About the role

We are looking for an Administrative Assistant to support a government community assistance program in Bellevue, Washington. This Contract position plays a key role in keeping daily operations organized, assisting program participants, and helping the team deliver responsive public service. The ideal candidate brings strong administrative experience, attention to detail, and a customer-focused approach when working with community members and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Support the administration of the assistance program while adhering to established guidelines and procedures.
  • Review applications and supporting documentation to determine eligibility based on program requirements.
  • Respond to inquiries from program participants and community members via phone, email, and in person.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support outreach efforts and community engagement initiatives.
  • Assist with the development, review, and distribution of outreach materials, including brochures, emails, and social media content.
  • Coordinate outreach events and assist individuals with the application process.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations for small groups of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate program records through data entry and updates across multiple systems.
  • Conduct research, benchmarking, and information gathering related to similar programs and best practices.
  • Provide general administrative support as needed.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in administrative support, office coordination, or a related function.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle data entry tasks accurately and manage detailed records.
  • Experience answering inbound calls and providing attentive customer service to a diverse audience.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with participants and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with standard office systems and administrative tools used for scheduling, documentation, and communication.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team-oriented environment.
