Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi Campus is seeking two Administrative Assistants to support our Athletics Department for the 2026-2027 school year. These are temporary positions with projected end dates in December 2026.

About the Role

The administrative assistant role offers the opportunity to play an important part in supporting student-athletes and the day-to-day operations of a dynamic athletics program. The Administrative Assistant serves as a key resource for students, families, coaches, and staff while helping the department operate efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Provides general administrative support to different departments within the division/group.
  • Receives and screens incoming messages and correspondence. Provides information and responds to inquiries. Disseminates information internally.
  • Provides documentation handling including typing of routine correspondence, transmitting, faxing, and copying on an as-needed basis.
  • Establishes and maintains files, many confidential in nature, that may include personnel, payroll, student records, and general office files.
  • Communicates and provides information for visitors and outside sources.

Fiscal/Budget Management

  • Assists in the preparation and maintenance of the department budget, including handling purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and reimbursement claims.

Event Management

  • Coordinates and arranges staff events.

Project Support

  • Assists in preparing reports needed by the department.
  • Provides backup to other administrative staff and cross-trains.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of administrative or directly related experience.
  • Ability to work flexibly.
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with general office equipment.
  • Good computer knowledge, including extensive experience using Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and/or skill in organizational competencies of accountability, change effectiveness, collaboration and teamwork, communication, Hawaiian cultural commitment, and innovation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an educational setting.
  • Experience working in educational and/or athletic environments.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently sits, performs desk-based computer tasks, and grasps light or fine manipulation, talks, or hears.
  • Occasionally stands and/or walks, writes by hand, and lifts and/or carries, pushes, and/or pulls objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
  • Rarely twists, bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crawls, climbs, reaches or works above shoulder, or grasps forcefully.

Working Conditions

  • Work is conducted in an office environment and may require work to be conducted in non-standard workplaces.
  • Work is typically conducted Monday through Friday at normal business hours.

Pay

Hourly pay range: $21.35 - $28.30
