About the Role
The primary purpose of this position is to direct the day-to-day functions of the facility in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern nursing facilities to assure the highest degree of quality care is provided to residents at all times.
Responsibilities
- Oversees quality care and analyzes the entire operation of the nursing facility.
- Responsible for the overall operational functioning of the facility.
- Monitors census on a daily basis.
- Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates, and directs the facility's programs and activities in accordance with guidelines issued by the governing board.
- Complies and develops reporting on budget projections, revenue, and expenses; ensures budget conformance.
- Develops and maintains written policies and procedures and professional standards of practice that govern the operation of the facility.
- Develops policies and procedures and holds direct reports accountable.
- Serves as a role model for the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
- Ensures all employees, residents, and families are treated with the utmost respect.
- Engages in community groups and develops/maintains relationships with local hospital leadership.
- Monitors industry regulations, laws, and compliance updates, making changes as needed.
- Understands staffing level requirements and adheres to industry and company standards.
- Monitors and directs execution of policy and procedural changes.
- Actively resolves HR issues and risk management situations within the facility.
- Oversees capital improvements.
- Participates in advisory committees.
- Ensures facility personnel, residents, and visitors follow established safety regulations, including fire protection/prevention, smoking regulations, and infection control.
- Develops and maintains a stellar reputation within the industry and community.
- Builds relationships with support teams (HR, Therapy, Clinical, Finance) to assist in meeting/exceeding goals.
- Responsible for contract negotiations with vendors.
- Supports clinical efforts by understanding QA measures and holding people accountable.
- Keeps abreast of collections and accounts receivable (A/R) on a daily basis.
- Develops and executes creative ideas to increase employee engagement and minimize turnover.
- Reviews Quality Measures on a regular basis.
- Assists survey team members with additional information during inspections to aid in preventing deficiency citations.
- Conducts daily meetings with appropriate staff during facility inspections to discuss survey findings and formulate plans of action/correction.
- Reviews deficiencies noted during exit conferences and provides additional information to aid in removal or reduction of cited deficiencies.
- Assists in developing plans of correction for cited deficiencies, incorporating timetables and monitoring methods to prevent recurrence.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position manages and oversees multiple levels of employees either directly or indirectly. Responsibilities include hiring, training, budgeting, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, resolving problems, and terminations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university (required); Master’s Degree or MBA (preferred).
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite products.
- Must maintain licensing credentials for an Administrator.
Skills
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Pay
Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000
