Adjunct Lecturer / Teaching Specialist - FY27 Continuous Recruitment
This posting establishes a pool of instructors for temporary, non-tenured, Academic Professional and Administrative (P&A) positions as Teaching Specialist or Lecturer. Applications are continually accepted and reviewed as openings occur throughout the academic year. Employment is contingent on course enrollment targets and is typically semester-by-semester, paid on a per-course basis.
About the role
The Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development (OLPD) seeks instructors to teach undergraduate or graduate courses in areas such as Comparative and International Development Education (CIDE), Education Policy and Leadership, Evaluation Studies, Higher Education, or Human Resource Development. These positions are filled on an as-needed basis from the applicant pool.
Responsibilities
- Teaching/Instruction (90%)
- Teach assigned courses at the undergraduate or graduate level.
- Prepare course materials, including syllabi.
- Grade student materials, including exams, papers, presentations, and final exams.
- Submit final grades.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Student Advising (10%)
- Respond to student inquiries via email, phone, or in person.
- Evaluate student performance.
Requirements
- Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree relevant to the teaching assignment (required for appointment as Teaching Specialist).
- Doctorate or terminal degree relevant to the teaching assignment (required for appointment as Lecturer).
- Previous teaching experience.
- Ability to develop and deliver courses that account for diverse backgrounds, communities, identities, and abilities.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Strong record of teaching in a university setting.
- Strong understanding of curriculum concepts and processes.

Pay
Pay ranges from $1,000 to $10,000 per course, depending on education, qualifications, experience, course credit load, and enrollment. Retirement plan options are available for eligible classifications.
