About the role

The Annenberg School of Journalism at the University of Southern California seeks a highly qualified adjunct instructor to teach PR 508: Public Relations and Advertising Fundamentals and Strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Teach PR 508: Public Relations and Advertising Fundamentals and Strategy to graduate students.
  • Introduce students to strategies and practices in public relations and advertising, including landmark cases and current practices.
  • Place special emphasis on the historical roots and the school's proprietary planning model.
  • Experience in agency, corporate, non-profit, or government PR/Advertising is preferred.
  • Willingness to adhere to the established class curriculum is required.

Requirements

  • A B.A., B.S., M.S., or an M.A. degree in a related field.
  • Previous teaching experience is desirable.
  • Outstanding professional experience may be substituted for academic credentials.

USC reserves the “Adjunct” appointment for faculty teaching less than full-time at USC who are employed full-time in a primary profession or career elsewhere. Adjunct faculty typically teach only one course per year, but in exceptional cases, may teach one course per semester, if approved by the dean.
