Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective instruction in EMS courses according to established curriculum and learning objectives
- Teach in classroom, lab, and/or clinical environments as assigned
- Assess student learning and performance through assignments, exams, skills check-offs, and practical evaluations
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students
- Participate in program meetings, training, and professional development as required
Requirements
- Current certification/licensure as a State of Florida Paramedic
- Associate's degree in a health-related field (bachelor's degree preferred)
- State of Florida EMS Level A & B certifications
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support Provider and Instructor certifications
- Minimum of 4 years of field experience as a Paramedic
- Prior teaching or training experience preferred (especially in EMS education)
- Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with simulation-based instruction and assessment
- Familiarity with online or hybrid learning platforms (e.g., Canvas, Moodle)
- Knowledge of CoAEMSP accreditation standards and documentation
