Adjunct Instructor - Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective instruction in EMS courses according to established curriculum and learning objectives
  • Teach in classroom, lab, and/or clinical environments as assigned
  • Assess student learning and performance through assignments, exams, skills check-offs, and practical evaluations
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students
  • Participate in program meetings, training, and professional development as required

Requirements

  • Current certification/licensure as a State of Florida Paramedic
  • Associate's degree in a health-related field (bachelor's degree preferred)
  • State of Florida EMS Level A & B certifications
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support Provider and Instructor certifications
  • Minimum of 4 years of field experience as a Paramedic
  • Prior teaching or training experience preferred (especially in EMS education)
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with simulation-based instruction and assessment
  • Familiarity with online or hybrid learning platforms (e.g., Canvas, Moodle)
  • Knowledge of CoAEMSP accreditation standards and documentation
