Adjunct EMS Instructor

Description

This position will be responsible for delivering all levels of the EMS program classes as assigned and must be willing to teach a variety of methodologies. The instructor will also be responsible for course instruction and classroom management.

Job Duties

• Teaching classroom/laboratory/clinical sessions
• Assessment of student learning
• Responsibility for materials and supplies
• Assignments may also include teaching at multiple sites during the course, as class may be held at various IWCC campuses.

Qualifications

• Required- Current State of Iowa license
• Knowledge of current National EMS Education Standards
• Ability to pass a background check, have a valid U.S. driver’s license and good driving record

Physical Demands

• Requires prolonged standing or sitting
• Requires frequent bending, stooping or stretching
• May require light lifting
• Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity
• Requires ability to distinguish letters or symbols
• Requires the use of office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, telephone, faxes, and copiers
