Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach Ceramics in the art studio.
- Prepare and deliver instruction to students.
- Maintain the studio space for other classes and students.
- Employ strategies to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and encourage active learning.
- Maintain proper class-related records.
- Promptly assess student coursework and apprise students of progress.
- Relate well to a diverse population of learners.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of standard equipment, procedures, supplies, and materials related to ceramics and sculpture.
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a professional art practice.
- Teaching experience (preferably at the college level).
- Ability to mix clay and glazes and load/fire kiln as needed for class.
- MFA in Ceramics/Sculpture or related field preferred, Bachelor’s considered based on qualifications.
Compensation
$880 - $980 per credit
