Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach Ceramics in the art studio.
  • Prepare and deliver instruction to students.
  • Maintain the studio space for other classes and students.
  • Employ strategies to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and encourage active learning.
  • Maintain proper class-related records.
  • Promptly assess student coursework and apprise students of progress.
  • Relate well to a diverse population of learners.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of standard equipment, procedures, supplies, and materials related to ceramics and sculpture.
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a professional art practice.
  • Teaching experience (preferably at the college level).
  • Ability to mix clay and glazes and load/fire kiln as needed for class.
  • MFA in Ceramics/Sculpture or related field preferred, Bachelor’s considered based on qualifications.

Compensation

$880 - $980 per credit
