About the role
To provide quality instruction for student learning and maintain a positive learning environment in the classroom and laboratories. The major emphasis is on teaching and evaluating students in compliance with FAA documents for operations and curriculum, in addition to standard college policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Plan and teach classes as assigned and as outlined in the course descriptions and course syllabi.
- Supervise the study and learning activities of students.
- Submit requests for equipment, supplies, textbooks, and other instructional aids through the program director.
- Evaluate the academic progress of students.
- Demonstrate knowledge of services, regulations, and procedures as defined in the Adjunct Faculty Handbook.
- Submit course grades and perform other administrative duties as required.
- Schedule two office hours per term (not paid during the summer session). For extenuating circumstances, submit a written plan to the Dean describing how students can access the instructor.
- Conduct lab activities with students and complete sign-offs for the FAA Airman Certification Standards in the Task Matrix.
- Ensure safe and compliant practices in the laboratory.
Requirements
- Associate Degree or higher.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate.
