About the Role
Colorado Mountain College seeks faculty to teach non-credit Community Education courses. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to working effectively with students, employees, and community members of all backgrounds. Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities are preferred.
This position requires the employee to be a resident of the State of Colorado and perform all work duties within the state. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Teach classes as assigned by designated supervisor.
- Prepare appropriate lesson plans for each course in accordance with approved course outcomes.
- Develop a professional relationship with students and staff that encourages teacher/student communication.
- Assist in the recruitment of students, as appropriate.
- When agreed upon, assist in the evaluation of curriculum and instructional performance.
- Represent the college in a professional manner throughout the communities and college district by promoting a positive public image.
- Complete all required annual CMC training courses (e.g., Title IX, Digital Accessibility, and Data Security and Privacy).
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
An equivalent or applicable combination of education and/or experience to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position, with teaching experience in continuing education or community education.
Pay
Non-credit Community Education compensation is based on Pay Levels ranging from 1-5, with rates between $20-$60 per hour. A new faculty’s Pay Level is determined by the campus supervisor based on varying degrees of expertise and evidence in the instructional area.
Working Conditions
- Constant sitting; occasional walking, standing, and driving.
- Occasional handling of objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms and use of finger movements.
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 lbs.
- Constant written and oral communication; occasional reasoning, analyzing, and performing calculations.
- Daily use of a computer and standard office equipment; occasional driving of a vehicle.
