Adjunct Faculty - Art

About the role

The Humanities and Arts Department at Worcester Polytechnic Institute is regularly seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach Art. WPI’s Art faculty teach introductory courses, intermediate classes, advanced technique seminars, and capstone practicums. The department emphasizes visual arts (drawing, painting, and modeling), art and architectural history, digital imaging and computer art, animation and game design, and video production.

Responsibilities

• Teach introductory courses, intermediate classes, advanced technique seminars, and capstone practicums in Art.
• Emphasize visual arts (drawing, painting, and modeling).
• Teach art and architectural history.
• Teach digital imaging and computer art.
• Teach animation and game design.
• Teach video production.
• Demonstrate teaching excellence and versatility.
• Jump into an existing curriculum with creative and critical pedagogical approaches.

Requirements

• Hold an appropriate terminal degree such as an MFA or a Ph.D. in an appropriate field.

Qualifications

• Outstanding artists/scholars.

Skills

• Ability to teach a variety of Art courses.
• Knowledge of visual arts (drawing, painting, and modeling).
• Knowledge of art and architectural history.
• Knowledge of digital imaging and computer art.
• Knowledge of animation and game design.
• Knowledge of video production.
