About the Role
The Department of Media Arts at Rider University seeks an adjunct instructor to teach ART 103, Fundamentals of Drawing, for the Fall semester beginning September 9th, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Teach ART 103, Fundamentals of Drawing.
- Instruct students in observational drawing techniques using charcoal, pencil, and pen & ink.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Fine Art or a closely related field.
- Proficiency in working with charcoal, pencil, and pen & ink.
- Understanding of observational drawing and related techniques.
- Satisfactory background and/or DMV checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching and working with a wide range of student abilities.
- Experience engaging students in critique and discussion of aesthetic concepts.
- Experience with digital rendering techniques.
Pay
Salary is $4,215.98 for a 3-credit course. A full course is considered to have 9 students enrolled. If a section has 8 or fewer enrollees, the salary is prorated based on the number of students.
