Adjunct - AY27 Vocational Education Instructor, Information Technology Non-Credit

The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is the largest community college district in the United States, comprising nine colleges serving over 40 cities in Southern California. About the role

The LACCD is accepting applications for part-time Vocational Education Instructors in Information Technology (Noncredit) for the 2027 Academic School Year. This posting establishes a pool of qualified applicants for potential openings across its nine colleges. Final assignments are contingent upon enrollment, funding, and class availability.

Applicants may indicate interest in specific colleges and may be invited for interviews with the Noncredit Education Department. The role involves teaching a range of Information Technology courses in a culturally responsive and inclusive manner, supporting diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

• Teach Information Technology-related courses within the Vocational Education Noncredit discipline.
• Promote engaging and inclusive educational environments that support student learning.
• Conduct classes in virtual, hybrid, or hyflex modalities using Canvas or other online learning platforms.
• Collaborate with students, staff, faculty, and administrators in a professional and culturally responsive manner.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline and two years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught; OR
• Associate degree in any discipline and six years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught; OR
• Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college faculty, staff, and students.

Qualifications

Preference may be given to applicants with:

• Verification of employment demonstrating industry knowledge, skills, and abilities in:
  • Robotics: configuring, testing, and troubleshooting robotic systems.
  • Programming: writing code, reviewing, and implementing operating systems.
  • Social Media: blogs, content creation, influencing, marketing, coordination, or management.
• California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in the subject matter.
• Bilingual Certificate from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
• Certification in Canvas or other online learning modalities.

Verification of Experience letters must be on company letterhead and include:

• Dates of employment.
• Position title.
• Full-time or part-time status (if part-time, include weekly percentage or hours worked).
• Description of related duties performed.

Pay

The salary for adjunct noncredit instructors begins at $81.81 per standard hour.
