About the role

LACCD is accepting applications for Noncredit Digital Media Vocational Instructor positions for the 2027 Academic School Year. This posting establishes a pool of qualified applicants; when an opening arises, the hiring college will review candidates from this pool. Applicants must reapply to this pool to remain under consideration. Positions are part-time and contingent upon enrollment, funding, and class availability.

Faculty may be required to teach in a virtual, hybrid, or hyflex environment using Canvas. Certification in online teaching modalities may be preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a range of Noncredit Digital Media Vocational Education courses.
  • Create engaging and inclusive educational environments that support diverse student learning needs.
  • Demonstrate cultural responsiveness in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members from varied backgrounds.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and two years of occupational experience related to Digital Media; OR
  • Associate degree and six years of occupational experience related to Digital Media; OR
  • Full-time, clear California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in the subject matter.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff.
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption as required by LACCD policy.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Digital Broadcasting & Content Creation
  • Production Management (Podcast/Video/Radio/Blog Content)
  • Web interface design for audio/video channels
  • Troubleshooting and evaluation of relevant technology
  • Sound Engineering and Recording Engineering

Applicants must provide a Verification of Employment letter substantiating industry knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Pay

Adjunct noncredit instructors are compensated at a rate of $81.81 per standard hour.
