About the Role
The LACCD is accepting applications for part-time Vocational Education Instructor - Behavior Technician positions for the 2027 Academic School Year. This posting establishes a pool of qualified applicants for future openings across LACCD’s nine colleges. Final assignments are contingent upon enrollment, funding, and class availability.
Applicants may indicate interest in specific colleges during the application process and may be interviewed by Noncredit Education and Allied Health Department members. Successful candidates will collaborate with students, staff, and faculty to create engaging, inclusive educational environments.
Responsibilities
- Teach a range of Home Health Aides-related courses within the Noncredit Vocational Education discipline.
- Promote culturally responsive and inclusive learning environments for a diverse student population.
- Conduct classes in virtual, hybrid, or hyflex modalities using Canvas or other online platforms (preference given to candidates with online teaching certification).
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of professional experience related to the subject; or
- Associate’s degree and 6 years of professional experience related to the subject; or
- Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to teach topics such as problem behavior, interventions, and ethics/professionalism.
- Proficiency in teaching classes in Spanish, Armenian, and/or Russian.
- Registered Behavior Technician Certification.

Health & Vaccination Requirements
- A medical certificate indicating fitness to instruct or associate with students is required at the applicant’s expense after selection and prior to employment.
- All employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by November 8, 2021, or have an approved exemption (per LACCD Board of Trustees Policy 2900).
Pay
Adjunct noncredit instructors are compensated at a rate of $89.72 per standard hour.
