About the Role

The LACCD is accepting applications for part-time, adjunct Vocational Education Instructors in Computer Technology - Artificial Intelligence (AI) Non-Credit positions for the 2027 Academic School Year. This posting establishes a pool of qualified applicants for future openings at any of LACCD’s nine colleges. Final assignments are contingent upon enrollment, funding, and class availability.

Successful candidates will teach a range of AI and computer technology courses, from introductory AI literacy to applied workplace tools, in non-credit vocational education settings. Faculty may be required to teach in virtual, hybrid, or hyflex modalities using Canvas.

Responsibilities

• Promote engaging and inclusive educational environments that support student learning and digital confidence.
• Deliver hands-on instruction in AI tools and emerging technologies for learners with little or no prior technical experience.
• Integrate responsible, ethical, and informed use of AI technologies into course content.
• Demonstrate cultural responsiveness in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members across diverse backgrounds.
• Teach courses ranging from introductory AI literacy to applied AI tools for workplace, academic, and research contexts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in any field AND two (2) years of full-time related professional experience OR Associate degree in any field AND six (6) years of full-time related professional experience. Experience must be directly related to the teaching assignment.
• Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff.
• Verification of Employment (VOE) letter from a current or previous employer, on company letterhead, substantiating industry or professional knowledge, skills, and abilities in one or more of the following areas:
  • Artificial Intelligence tools and applications
  • Generative AI (text, image, audio, or multimodal systems)
  • Artificial Intelligence literacy instruction
  • AI for workplace productivity and communication
  • AI for academic or research applications
  • Data analysis and visualization
  • Python programming and computational workflows
  • Automation and structured problem-solving with technology
  • Responsible and ethical use of AI technologies
  The VOE letter must include:
  • Dates of employment
  • Position title
  • Full-time or part-time status (if part-time, indicate weekly percentage or hours worked)
  • Description of related duties performed
• Medical certificate indicating fitness to engage in administrative work (required for new employees at the applicant’s expense prior to employment).
• COVID-19 vaccination required per LACCD Board of Trustees Policy 2900; vaccination status must be provided prior to starting the position.

Benefits

Adjunct noncredit instructors are compensated at a rate beginning at $81.81 per standard hour.
