Adjunct Assistant Professor - Arch & Con Management (Con Proj Mgmt and Construction Engineering)
About the role
Periodically, Adjunct Teaching Positions Become Available In The Architecture & Construction Management Department. The following courses in Construction Project Management and Construction Engineering are part of the Architectural Engineering Technology and Construction Management Engineering Technology programs.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in Construction Project Management, Construction Safety, Construction Management Financial & Accounting Principles, Quantity Surveying and Costing, Construction Project Management, Advanced Project Planning and Scheduling, and Capstone Project.
- Ensure teaching aligns with course learning objectives and student learning outcomes.
- Show knowledge of prevailing building codes in Long Island jurisdictions.
- Show knowledge of site and building construction materials and assemblies specified in building and site design.
- Show knowledge of site design and construction for grading, drainage, site structures and pavement, and landscape preparation.
- Show knowledge of construction equipment use, scheduling, mobilization, and operation.
- Show knowledge of construction drawings, construction notes and specification organization, layers and preparation.
- Show knowledge of field survey skills, surveying equipment, preparations of surveying drawings and reports, and use of field equipment.
- Show knowledge of construction site safety planning and management.
- Show knowledge of construction cost estimating, budgeting, and/or accounting associated with project management.
Requirements
- Minimum Required Qualifications: B.S. in Construction Management and MS in Construction Management or related field, or B. Arch. (5 year), or M. Arch., or B.S. Arch. and MS in related field, or B.S. in Civil Engineering, or B.S. in Surveying or related field.
- Additional Preferred Qualifications: Architectural Registration (RA) license, or Professional Engineering (PE) or Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license.
- 3 years of professional work experience and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
