About the role
This position supports the Marine Corps Installations Command (MCICOM) Facilities Directorate’s Writing Cell as an Acquisition Specialist. Your role will be to draft Statements of Work (SOW) and Performance Work Statements (PWS) for a broad portfolio of facilities construction, sustainment, and demolition projects in support of program tasks. You will work under the direction of the Senior Acquisition Specialist to gather technical inputs, conduct coordination, and develop acquisition-ready documentation for Government review and approval.
Responsibilities
- Draft SOWs and PWSs from technical inputs, stakeholder interviews, and prior contract reference documents
- Incorporate Government review comments and revise documents through multiple iteration cycles to meet acceptance standards
- Maintain document version control and track deliverable status against monthly production targets
- Coordinate with engineering, environmental, and program staff to gather project-specific technical details
- Support market research data calls and Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCE) package compilation as directed by the Senior Specialist
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, English, technical writing, or related field
- 4–6 years of Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition or technical writing experience
- Familiarity with federal contracting documentation requirements and SOW/PWS structure and standards
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint
- Active Secret clearance required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Common Access Card (CAC); active Secret clearance (or interim Secret at minimum) required at start of performance and maintained for the duration of the contract
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Experience with facilities or construction programs strongly preferred
