Day Kimball Health is seeking an Accounts Payable/Cash Management Supervisor to join our Finance Department in Putnam, Connecticut. This is an exempt, full-time position (40 hours per week) on the day shift.

About the Role

As the Accounts Payable/Cash Management Supervisor, you will be a vital member of a dynamic team responsible for supervising the accounts payable function and cash management for Day Kimball Hospital and Day Kimball Medical Group. Under the general supervision of the CFO, you will oversee invoice entry, vendor relationships, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and the supervision of the AP Coordinator and Accounting Associate.

Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable:
    • Run AP aging for DKH and DKMG and make payment selections for the AP Coordinator to process check runs based on the CFO’s approved dollar amounts and vendor credit holds.
    • Monitor vendor statements, reconcile against invoices entered in AP, and request missing invoices.
    • Track un-invoiced receipts, close POs if necessary, and mark items paid via automatic withdrawal.
    • Complete month-end closing process and balance the AP liability account GL to the AP AS400 reporting monthly.
    • Oversee fiscal year-end audit requests related to AP liability reconciliation.
    • Handle annual 1099 reporting for the hospital and medical group.
    • Establish and maintain vendor relationships, including handling calls/emails and providing payment schedule information.
    • Direct and supervise the AP Coordinator, providing backup coverage as needed.
  • General Ledger/Cash Management:
    • Identify weekly cash disbursement requirements and create a daily cash worksheet.
    • Communicate daily with the CFO to provide cash updates and decide on checks to be cut/mailed.
    • Reconcile monthly plant fund and accounts payable bank statements.
    • Complete monthly journal entries as assigned.
    • Provide backup for the operating account checkbook and associated GL entries.
    • Backup for bank account transfers, wires, and ACH batches for vendor payments.
    • Direct and supervise the Accounting Associate.
  • Prepare various quarterly and annual reports for Federal and State governments.
  • Assist with the auditing process by providing information to external auditors.
  • Adhere to the C.A.R.E. philosophy and the missions, principles, goals, and objectives of Day Kimball Health.
  • Perform other financial management functions as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or a related field.
  • At least five years of supervisory experience.
  • Accounts Payable and Cash Management experience.
  • Proficiency with computers and spreadsheet software.
  • Excellent motivational skills and the ability to drive change.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.

Skills

  • Oversee the Accounts Payable process for Day Kimball Healthcare.
  • Develop, assist, and/or delegate special financial projects.
  • Coordinate cash management and communicate daily with the CFO.
