About the role

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based at Sofitel New York in New York, NY. This role is responsible for managing the hotel’s accounts receivable processes, including generating and issuing invoices, applying payments, reconciling guest and corporate accounts, and monitoring aging reports.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and issue invoices, apply payments, and reconcile guest and corporate accounts.
  • Follow up on outstanding balances, coordinate timely collections with corporate clients and travel partners, and address billing inquiries with clarity and professionalism.
  • Verify billing accuracy, handle guest inquiries, chargebacks, and folio requests, prepare adjustments and credit memos, maintain detailed records in the financial systems, and support month-end closing activities.
  • Partner closely with the Finance, Sales, Front Office, and Events teams to ensure accurate billing, compliance with hotel and Accor policies, and excellent internal and external customer service.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Finance and Invoicing, with experience managing billing cycles and account reconciliations.
  • Demonstrated Analytical Skills to review aging reports, identify discrepancies, and resolve account issues efficiently.
  • Effective Communication skills for interacting with clients, internal teams, and external partners in a clear, professional manner.
  • Experience with Debt Collection, including courteous and persistent follow-up on overdue balances and payment arrangements.
  • Previous experience in hospitality, hotels, or related service industries preferred.
  • Familiarity with property management systems, accounting software, and MS Excel.

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.

Pay

This position will pay between $32-$35/hour.

Schedule

The role is full-time and on-site.
