Accounts Receivable Specialist

Careerscape is supporting a client opening for a Hybrid Entry-Level Accounts Receivable Specialist. This role focuses on managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate customer account records, preparing invoices, reconciling accounts, and supporting daily accounts receivable operations. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will work closely with finance teams, customers, and internal departments to ensure timely payment processing, accurate financial records, and excellent customer service. Compensation
The salary range for this role is $60,000 - $90,000 per year, based on experience, communication skills, analytical abilities, and client hiring needs. Additional compensation and benefits details will be shared during the hiring process.
What you’ll do
- Generate and process customer invoices
- Record incoming payments accurately
- Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on overdue accounts
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve payment discrepancies
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Prepare accounts receivable reports and aging schedules
- Respond to customer billing inquiries professionally
- Collaborate with accounting and finance teams
- Update financial systems and customer account information
- Support month-end closing activities
- Assist with process improvements and compliance procedures
- Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned
What we’re looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred
- 0–2 years of experience in accounting, finance, administration, customer service, or related roles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a hybrid work environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional, dependable, and customer-focused mindset
Nice to have
- Internship or entry-level accounting experience
- Experience with ERP or accounting software
- Knowledge of accounts receivable processes
