Compensation: $90,000–$105,000 + discretionary bonus
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead a team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a highly hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day operation while also providing direction, coaching, and process improvement. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounts payable expertise, management experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to build strong relationships across departments.
Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of 3–4 Accounts Payable Specialists.
- Oversee daily accounts payable operations and ensure accurate, timely processing.
- Provide hands-on support and guidance to the AP team as needed.
- Monitor workflows, priorities, and deadlines to ensure a high level of service.
- Identify opportunities to improve AP processes, procedures, and efficiencies.
- Partner with internal departments and vendors to resolve invoice and payment issues.
- Help establish and maintain effective controls and processes within the AP function.
- Review and monitor team performance, workload, and productivity.
- Train, coach, and develop team members while fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Ensure accurate reporting and documentation related to accounts payable activities.
- Utilize financial systems and Microsoft Excel to manage and analyze AP-related information.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of management experience, including direct management of multiple team members.
- Previous manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.
- Strong accounts payable and accounting knowledge.
- Experience working in a shared services environment is a significant plus.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with JD Edwards or a similar ERP system preferred.
- Highly organized with a strong sense of urgency.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Hands-on leadership style with a willingness to jump in and assist the team when needed.
