About the Role
D.R. Horton, Inc., the largest homebuilder in the U.S., is seeking an Accounts Payable Supervisor to assist in managing the Accounts Payable staff and ensuring the proper facilitation of duties such as processing invoices, approving expense statements, and making deposits. This role involves coordinating with other departments and vendors to ensure timely and accurate payments.
Responsibilities
- Manage Accounts Payable staff, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Plan and direct the activities of the Accounts Payable Clerks, providing support and assistance as needed.
- Train new staff as necessary.
- Review and post A/P batches.
- Run Auto Voucher and request approvals; make corrections as necessary.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure proper payment and reimbursement.
- Ensure Vendor Insurance Compliance and work with vendors to ensure timely payments; research and resolve issues.
- Delegate and manage the vendor set-up process.
- Reconcile accounts.
- Run weekly Payment Group Reports and submit to corporate; run weekly Paymode reports and maintain the Paymode process.
- Manage the historical scanning process as well as Docusphere.
- Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase company goodwill and profit.
- Ensure accuracy in vendors, payments, job numbers, subdivisions, and cost codes.
- Stop payments and void checks as needed.
- Ability to work overtime and travel overnight.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervises 1 employee.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
- Three to five years of related experience and/or training.
- Ability to accurately process and record a large volume of numerical data.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral form, or via DRH applications.
- Proficiency with MS Office and email.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of general accounting functions.
- Experience with payroll software and data entry.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and attention to detail.
