Accounts Payable Supervisor

Position Responsibilities

• Oversee accounts payable to nontrade associates to ensure correct sorting, matching, entry, and approval of invoices and receipts including real estate and lease payments, utilities, marketing, and advertising, etc.
• Monitor progress against reporting cycle milestones.
• Direct the weekly check-run process and work cross-functionally with the treasury team to identify upcoming payments.
• Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations, including analysis and propose journal entries for assigned accounts and when necessary to assist associates.
• Review and approve journal entries.
• Review and perform internal controls.
• Assist accounts payable associates with job responsibilities when necessary.
• Assist with the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
• Support quarterly review process and annual audit.
• Complete ad hoc projects and analysis as needed, including participating in potential invoice-workflow-automation software vendors.
• Provide efficient client service.
• Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential.

Qualifications

• Experience in consumer retail industry preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
• 3-5 years actively supervising staff in a professional environment.
• 5 years of related accounting experience.
