About the role

Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable for various benefit and service programs using automated systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Handle purchase order processing, invoice verification, and payment requests.
- Process benefit replacement checks, research outstanding checks, submit proof registers, and issue checks.
- Manage Companion Care provider payments using QuickBooks Pro software and maintain daily communication with case workers.
- Audit information to ensure compliance with state and local regulations, budget guidelines, and program policies.
- Serve as a backup for processing Foster Care and other program payments using Harmony and Dynamics systems.
- Analyze and interpret financial reports, and efficiently scan documents using the Laserfiche Imaging System.
- Perform other work as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma supplemented with bookkeeping coursework, and related fiscal support experience using business and agency software to include spreadsheets.
- Considerable knowledge of: the application of established bookkeeping and accounting principles and techniques to governmental accounting transactions; and arithmetic.
- Working knowledge of: state and local government fiscal regulations, policies and procedures; and office accounting methods and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices as well as general office practices and procedures.
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial reports and data, as well as maintain detailed fiscal records and files.
- Excellent computer skills utilizing Microsoft Excel and other software packages.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and critical thinking skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Demonstrated skill in handling fast-paced and often competing pressures on one's time.
- Confidentiality and tact.
Qualifications
- Current valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
- Out of state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview.
- Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date.
- Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
- A Chesterfield County application is also required and must be submitted online by the deadline.

Pay

Schedule
Shift: 28 hours/week
Monday - Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
