Accounts Payable Specialist

About the role

Vaco Indianapolis has partnered with a client in downtown Indianapolis in search of an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team due to growth. This is a full time, direct hire opportunity working on a hybrid schedule once trained.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage accounts payable transactions with accuracy and timeliness.
• Review, verify, and reconcile invoices and expense reports.
• Maintain records for audits and financial reporting.
• Collaborate with teams and vendors to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth payments.
• Assist with month-end close by preparing reports and reconciling accounts.
• Ensure compliance with accounts payable policies and procedures.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Respond to vendor and internal payment inquiries.
• Support special projects as needed.

Requirements

• Basic Excel skills are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of accounts payable or related experience.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communicator with strong collaboration skills.
• Able to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and meet deadlines.
• Adaptable and eager to learn new systems and processes.
