Accounts Payable Specialist
About the role
This position involves processing invoices, bills, and personnel expenses. Key responsibilities include matching packing slips to invoices, printing freight bills, filing invoices, troubleshooting invoice and branch issues, and supporting branches in accounts processing.
Responsibilities
- Match packing slips to invoices
- Print out freight bills and code with purchase order numbers if possible
- File invoices
- Troubleshoot invoice problems with purchasing, receiving, and shipping
- Troubleshoot problems with branch issues and vendors
- Sort Finance mail and distribute; check on faxes
- Process plant and branch invoices
- Mark cash commitments for vendor requests and problem vendors for approval of check run
- Support branches in relation to accounts processing invoice/payment
Requirements
Requires a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report. Local travel expectations are 0%, and overnight travel expectations are 0%. Must have education equivalent to a high school diploma and minimum 2 years of related experience. Requires proficiency in MS Office applications and ERP systems. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds and perform tasks such as prolonged standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. Must be physically present at the branch office to oversee shared services functions and employees, normally working standard business hours. Certain positions may require flexibility in working hours.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: Minimum 2 years in related experience

Work Environment and Expectations
The job duties are performed mainly within an established office environment under normal lighting and climate-controlled tolerances. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Requires a consistent physical presence at the branch office to oversee shared services functions and employees, normally achieved by working standard business hours. Certain positions will require a flexibility of working hours to meet the demands of the job and the direction of the manager. The work environments are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
