Accounts Payable Specialist

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify invoice coding and approvals in accordance with company procedures.
  • Prepare and process check runs, ACH payments, and other disbursements.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain vendor records, including W-9s and payment information.
  • Respond to vendor and employee inquiries regarding payment status.
  • Aid with month-end closing activities and account reconciliations.
  • Support audits by providing documentation and reports as requested.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical accounting records.
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Skills/Experience

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of accounts payable or accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

Qualifications

Minimum Skills and Requirements: - Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred. - 2+ years of accounts payable or accounting experience preferred. - Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and accounting principles. - Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems. - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. - Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. - Strong communication and customer service skills.

Skills

Preferred Skills: - Experience in professional services, engineering, consulting, construction, or related industries. - Experience with ERP or accounting software systems. - Knowledge of 1099 reporting requirements.
