Accounts Payable Specialist

About the role

The Accounts Payable Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the accounts payables system, ensuring efficient and accurate execution of all related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Receive invoices and scan into Image Now software system.
• Review and enter invoices into Oracle EBS to be routed to the business partners for approval and payment.
• Ensure correct information is presented during the invoice entry process and research as needed to facilitate payment.
• Escalate more complex supplier issues to the Accounts Payable Lead position.
• Execute the weekly check run using Oracle EBS to run reports, NACHA and SUA files containing supplier information, account coding, and payment details.
• Review entries for accuracy and reasonableness, print, organize, and prepare checks for review and signature, and transmit NACHA files to the bank.
• Respond to customer inquiries about payment schedules, verification of payments, and proper use of Oracle EBS processes and notifications.
• Act as a point of escalation for the Accounts Payable Specialist.
• Ensure timely and accurate month end close by balancing wires with the AP Specialist and working with purchasing to clear up any issues preventing system closure.
• Assist in performing special projects or research as required.
