Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Addison, TX | Industry: Healthcare | Pay: $25–30/hr

About the Role

This Accounts Payable Specialist position is a temporary project expected to last approximately 2–3 months, with potential for extension based on business needs and workload. The Accounts Payable Specialist will focus primarily on invoice coding, processing, reconciliations, and vendor support while helping the accounting team work through a large volume of outstanding invoices. The ideal candidate will have experience in high-volume AP environments, be comfortable working independently, and be able to quickly contribute in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Process and code a high volume of invoices accurately and efficiently
• Perform 2-way and 3-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receipts
• Support Accounts Payable activities across multiple entities and locations
• Review invoices for proper coding, approvals, and supporting documentation
• Resolve invoice discrepancies, payment issues, and vendor inquiries
• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate outstanding balances
• Collaborate with accounting, purchasing, and operations teams to resolve exceptions
• Maintain accurate Accounts Payable records and supporting documentation
• Assist with reducing invoice backlogs and improving AP workflow efficiency
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and internal controls
• Support month-end Accounts Payable activities as needed
• Communicate professionally with vendors regarding payment status and account concerns
• Utilize ERP systems to manage invoice processing and reporting

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience
• High-volume invoice processing experience required
• Strong invoice coding experience
• Experience with 2-way and 3-way matching
• Multi-entity Accounts Payable experience preferred
• Healthcare industry experience preferred
• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, NetSuite, SAP, Dynamics 365, RAMP, Intacct, or similar platforms
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
