Accounts Payable Specialist
Responsibilities
- Validate, reconcile, code, and enter invoices for raw materials, freight, and general expenses using a three-way match process while monitoring approval controls.
- Calculate and apply accurate conversions for weight and currency when processing invoices.
- Review and monitor vendor payment agreements to ensure correct discounts, payment terms, contracted rates, and end dates are applied.
- Aid in preparing and analyzing cash requirements and forecasts to support financial planning and payment scheduling.
- Maintain accurate and organized accounts payable records in accounting and ERP systems.
- Use Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools to prepare reports, perform reconciliations, and support accounts payable analysis.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience as a seasoned Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, invoicing, invoice processing, and three-way matching.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance, or an Associate's Degree combined with relevant experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with SAP or similar ERP platforms in an accounts payable or accounting environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong problem-solving skills to investigate and resolve invoice and purchase order issues.
- Comfort with handling currency and weight conversions in an international or complex purchasing environment.
- Capability to prepare and support cash requirement and forecast reporting.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a finance or accounting team.
About the Role
The Accounts Payable Specialist validates, reconciles, codes, and processes invoices for raw materials, freight, and general expenses using a three-way match process while ensuring proper approval controls. This role reviews vendor payment agreements, assists with cash requirements and forecasts, monitors company credit card usage, and resolves issues related to invoices and purchase orders.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
