Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and evaluate the accounts payable team, including recruiting, training, performance management, and day-to-day prioritization of work.
- Establish, document, and update accounts payable policies and standard procedures to promote accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Oversee recurring reporting obligations and ensure required annual submissions are completed correctly and on schedule.
- Manage vendor payment programs and help maintain timely, accurate disbursement processes across approved payment methods.
- Administer the company purchasing card and travel and expense card programs, including oversight of related expense tools and policy adherence.
- Support accounts payable technology updates, process improvements, and implementation of new tools or enhancements impacting the function.
- Foster strong supplier relationships by addressing payment concerns, resolving issues professionally, and promoting clear communication.
- Review invoice coding, payment batches, check runs, and ACH activity to help ensure transactions are processed accurately and in accordance with internal controls.
- Contribute to additional departmental or organizational priorities as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading an accounts payable team in a supervisor or manager capacity.
- Strong working knowledge of core accounts payable processes, including invoice coding, payment processing, check runs, and ACH transactions.
- Ability to create and maintain procedures that support consistency, compliance, and efficient workflow management.
- Experience administering corporate card or expense-related programs is highly valued.
- Demonstrated ability to coach employees, assign work effectively, and maintain accountability within a finance function.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines, reporting requirements, and multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills for working with vendors and cross-functional internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- College degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounts payable or similar finance role.
- CPA certification is a plus.
Skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Access.
- Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems is beneficial.
