About the role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Accounts Payable Manager to join our fast-paced manufacturing company. This is a permanent, full-time position where you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the accounts payable function. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, analytical thinker with excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of multi-state tax returns, vendor payments, and payment processing.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounts payable department including invoice processing, payment processing, and vendor management.
- Develop, implement, and maintain systems, procedures, and policies to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
- Manage monthly closing of financial records and posting of month-end information, ensuring accuracy of financial statements.
- Provide accurate and effective document coordination and control to ensure that the accounts payable system works efficiently.
- Manage vendor relationships and build effective partnerships.
- Assist with internal and external audits ensuring strict compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Prepare and file multi-state tax returns.
- Analyze and resolve any discrepancies in payments and invoices.
- Train and mentor accounts payable staff to ensure understanding of company processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with the other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within an accounts payable function.
- Proven experience with payment processing, AP, accounts payable, multi-state tax returns, and vendor payments.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting and their implications on accounts payable.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service approach.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.

Pay
$80,000 - $90,000 per year
