About the role
This is a full-time, on-site Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Clerk role based in Suffolk, VA.
Responsibilities
- Entering and updating data in accounting software
- Processing expense and trade vendor invoices
- Processing check and credit card payments on a weekly basis
- Resolving invoice and payment discrepancies
- Posting payments to customer accounts
- Collecting past due amounts from customers
- Coinciding with internal teams and external vendors
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, including invoice matching and payment workflows
- Proficiency with Accounting Software and general Accounting principles relevant to payables
- Hands-on experience with Invoicing, vendor management, and reconciliation of accounts
- Clear and professional Communication skills for collaborating with internal stakeholders and external vendors
- A high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills in a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to work on-site in Suffolk, VA and collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment
- Basic to intermediate Excel skills and familiarity with common office productivity tools
- Previous experience in an accounting or payables role and a high school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in accounting or finance is beneficial
