Accounts Payable
About the role
This remote Accounts Payable role is responsible for ensuring vendor invoices are reviewed, processed, and paid accurately and on schedule while maintaining the integrity of financial records. Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and process vendor invoices for accuracy, coding, approvals, and supporting documentation.
- Manage the full accounts payable cycle for multiple vendors while ensuring compliance with company policies and internal controls.
- Prepare and process electronic payments, ACH transactions, wire transfers, and check runs in accordance with payment schedules.
- Reconcile vendor statements, investigate discrepancies, and resolve invoice or payment issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate vendor records, including onboarding new vendors and updating existing information.
- Partner with internal departments to resolve purchasing, receiving, and invoice-related questions.
- Assist with month-end close by preparing accruals, reconciliations, and AP reporting.
- Recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and improve the overall procure-to-pay process.
- Generate reports and perform ad hoc analysis related to vendor activity, spending trends, and accounts payable performance.
Requirements
- Experience supporting accounts payable functions in an accounting or finance environment.
- Working knowledge of invoice coding, invoice processing, and payment execution, including check runs.
- Ability to review invoices carefully for accuracy, match documentation, and follow established approval procedures.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines and prioritize high-volume transactional work.
Qualifications
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of general ledger systems and accounting principles.
- Experience with accounts payable software such as QuickBooks or similar systems.
