About the role

The Office of Administration, Division of Accounting (OA‑DOA) is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated professional to join the Financial Unit. In this role, you’ll play an important part in supporting state agencies, ensuring accuracy in financial processes, and contributing to the team’s overall success.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and process vendor input forms with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Review vendor input and related forms to ensure compliance with IRS and State requirements.
  • Process and reconcile a variety of monthly financial reports.
  • Aid state agencies and vendors with inquiries related to vendor entries or vendor input forms within SAMII Financial.
  • Receive and process incoming mail.
  • Verify paper checks and pull voids for Agencies and Direct Checks.
  • Complete the check reconciliation process.
  • Sort checks for distribution to state agencies.

Requirements

  • One or more years of business or governmental financial recordkeeping experience, including mathematical computations, and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency.
  • Thirty (30) earned credit hours from an accredited college or university, including three (3) credit hours in accounting, may substitute for the required experience.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of the SAM II system is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within the unit, state agencies, and vendors via phone, email, or fax.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Pay

The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.
