Accounting Specialist - RTR General Accounting
Job Summary
This position supports the General Accounting Center of Excellence (COE) team, focusing on areas such as Payroll accruals, Payroll deductions, Equity investments, Long-Term and Short-Term notes, Workers' Compensation and General Liability Insurance, Manual Accruals, GRIR accounting, AP and AR trade activity accounts, Miscellaneous A/R, Bad Debt Reserve accounting, and Income Tax accruals. It oversees financial activities affecting the bottler's financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of month-end close processes, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Additionally, it provides financial reporting and analysis, technical accounting guidance, and audit support to client bottlers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Execute the month end close process for assigned areas of responsibility, including monthly reporting, analysis, and reconciliations while ensuring the timeliness, accuracy, integrity, and quality of the financial statements.
- Review complex and material reconciliations and journal entries completed by the offshore team (BPO).
- Cultivate relationships with assigned bottlers for all general accounting activities for all areas above (bottler finance and operations team).
- Leverage key business indicators to identify opportunities for process improvement initiatives.
- Provide financial and project management leadership throughout process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with department/cross-functionally to drive process, performance, and effectiveness.
- Oversee assigned process and team including partnership, support, and continual training of an offshore team.
- Understand industry, bottler & customer end-to-end processes and key contacts to deliver expected results.
- Provide technical accounting guidance to support operational decision making based on the role.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert for multiple business systems including CONA, third party software, and implemented automation technology.
Key Skills And Abilities
- Strong understanding of finance business processes and accounting policies/GAAP.
- Knowledge of SAP, Advanced-level Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Access Databases & Accg Support Tools (e.g., Blackline).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently and meet deadlines.
- Process improvement focus.
- Building strong, trusted internal and external customer relationships.
- Prior exposure to Financial or Cost Accounting, and related activities, in a professional environment.
Education Requirements
- Minimum: 4 Year / Bachelor’s Degree — Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Preferred: Graduate Degree — Master’s degree and/or CPA preferred.
- Years of Experience: 3 to 5 years of finance and/or accounting experience.
Required Travel
Willingness and ability to travel as required based on business need. Less than 5% of travel.
