Accounting Specialist

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join a team in Arden Hills, Minnesota. In this long-term contract position, you will play a crucial role in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in billing and reconciliations, and supporting accounting processes. Responsibilities

• Process and manage accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions with a high level of accuracy.
• Prepare and review billing statements, including subscription or recurring billing, ensuring timely delivery and resolution of discrepancies.
• Perform account reconciliations and assist with month-end closing tasks.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel to create pivot tables, perform lookups, and apply formulas for financial analysis.
• Collaborate with internal teams and customers to address inquiries and provide support for financial operations.
• Maintain organized records and follow established processes to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Assist with the implementation and usage of accounting systems like QuickBooks Online.
• Monitor and report on financial data to support decision-making processes.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to their implementation.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures in all accounting functions.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and formulas.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, accounting, or related financial roles.
• Familiarity with subscription or recurring billing processes is a plus.
• Experience with account reconciliations and general accounting practices.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication and collaborative abilities to work with customers and team members.
• Knowledge of QuickBooks Online or other accounting systems is preferred but not required.
