About the role
We are looking for a dedicated Accounting Specialist to join our team in Lewis Center, Ohio. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a key role in managing daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and providing operational support. Responsibilities
- Match vendor invoices to specific jobs or projects, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
- Route invoices for approval while addressing discrepancies proactively.
- Accurately enter vendor invoices and ensure proper coding and record-keeping.
- Process vendor payments through various methods, including checks, electronic transfers, and credit cards.
- Monitor and manage the shared accounting inbox for incoming invoices and vendor communications.
- Generate and distribute customer invoices in a timely manner.
- Apply incoming payments from customers accurately and maintain updated records.
- Scan and deposit checks using the appropriate tools and systems.
- Maintain accurate job and customer data within the company's accounting software.
- Collaborate with the operations team to resolve incomplete or missing job information.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Proficiency in accounting functions such as billing, reconciliation, and invoice coding.
- Familiarity with vendor payment methods, including electronic and credit card payments.
- Ability to manage cash payments and collect outstanding balances effectively.
- Experience with scanning invoices and posting payments accurately.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage Intacct.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
