Accounting Specialist
Location: North Tulsa, OK 74110 | Full-Time | 100% On-Site
Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join a small, collaborative team in North Tulsa. This temp-to-hire opportunity will support day-to-day accounting and administrative functions while learning and assisting with the responsibilities of the Office Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while supporting multiple departments. Experience with Oklahoma sales tax reporting and payroll is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable & Vendor Management
- Process vendor invoices and payments while verifying accuracy and maintaining expense records.
- Maintain vendor documentation and assist with purchase order tracking.
- Coordinate with technicians and internal departments regarding purchasing and vendor needs.
- Accounts Receivable & Billing
- Process and audit customer payments and deposits.
- Prepare and manage customer invoicing and assist with collections.
- Track vendor rebates and related documentation.
- Accounting & Recordkeeping
- Maintain accurate employee records, charge accounts, timesheets, and accounting documentation.
- Assist with account reconciliations, journal entries, general ledger activities, and error resolution.
- Maintain spreadsheets and track performance trends across departments.
- Assist with payroll processing and Oklahoma sales tax reporting.
- Administrative & Office Support
- Provide general office support, including phone coverage, correspondence, filing, and maintaining an organized workspace.
- Assist the Quality Control Department and Operations Manager with administrative needs.
- Support other areas of the business as needed in a small-team environment.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of accounting experience required.
- 1+ year of customer service experience required.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, including debits and credits, double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and general ledger accounting.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, reconciliations, and general accounting functions.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Must be comfortable working full-time, 100% on-site.
- Payroll experience preferred.
- Oklahoma sales tax reporting experience preferred.
- Distribution or warehouse-office experience is a plus.
- Associate degree in Accounting or a related field preferred; equivalent hands-on accounting experience will be considered.

Pay
Starting at $20.00/hour, depending on experience.
