Accounting Specialist

Location: Minnetonka, MN (only local candidates in Minnesota will be eligible for consideration)

About the role

We are partnering with a growing organization in the Minnetonka area to identify an Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day accounting operations. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a well-rounded role with exposure to both accounts payable and accounts receivable. The right candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple accounting responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable invoices, including coding, approvals, and payment preparation
• Support accounts receivable functions including invoicing, cash application, and payment follow-up
• Maintain accurate vendor and customer records
• Research and resolve invoice, payment, and account discrepancies
• Assist with account and bank reconciliations
• Support month-end close and general accounting activities as needed
• Maintain organized accounting documentation and records
• Respond to vendor and customer inquiries
• Partner with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely accounting transactions
• Assist with additional accounting projects and process improvements as needed

Requirements

• Previous accounting experience with exposure to both accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Comfortable working with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Pay

Up to $65,000 annually, dependent on applicable experience
