Accounting Manager - Utilities Department
About the role
The Accounting Manager oversees all accounts of Noblesville Utilities, executes banking, accounting, and financial reporting requirements, assists in the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and Annual Financial Report, maintains the fixed assets database, performs treasury duties, manages the annual budget process, creates and presents quarterly financial reports, calculates and maintains cost sharing agreements, and other related tasks.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounts of Noblesville Utilities, including banking, accounting, and financial reporting requirements.
- Aid Deputy Controller in executing the City's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and Annual Financial Report.
- Maintain the Utilities Department's fixed assets database.
- Perform treasury duties of the Utilities Department, including construction in-process.
- Create and present quarterly financial reports to Board of Public Works and Common Council as requested.
- Calculate and maintain annual cost sharing agreement between the City and Utilities Department.
Requirements
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, CPA certification, 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting and finance, and strong leadership and organizational skills.
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and cost management, knowledge of governmental accounting standards, and experience working with municipal utilities.
Skills
Essential skills include excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Pay
Salary range: $80,000 - $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
