Accounting Manager/Supervisor

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop Accounting and Accounts Payable team members.
  • Establish performance goals and support employee growth and development.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee fixed assets, capital project accounting, prepaids, accruals, bank reconciliations, intercompany accounting, and other key balance sheet accounts.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Maintain compliance with U.S. GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
  • Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including vendor management, payment processing, and issue resolution.
  • Implement and maintain strong controls related to vendor setup, approvals, and payments.
  • Partner with business leaders to improve working capital performance and optimize payment strategies.
  • Drive process improvement, standardization, and automation initiatives.
  • Enhance accounting procedures and internal controls to support scalability.
  • Partner with technology teams on ERP enhancements and workflow improvements.
  • Serve as a primary contact for external auditors related to accounting operations.
  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Support compliance with SOX requirements and corporate accounting policies.
  • Aid in financial reporting and management reporting needs.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Partner with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Treasury, and other stakeholders.
    • Provide accounting guidance and financial insights to business leaders.
    • Support strategic projects, operational initiatives, and growth activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
  • Experience overseeing General Accounting and Accounts Payable functions.
  • Knowledge of internal controls and SOX compliance.
  • ERP experience required; SAP experience preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Proven success leading process improvement and automation initiatives.
  • Experience leveraging technology and AI tools within accounting processes is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
