Key Responsibilities
- Manage the general ledger, month-end and year-end close processes, and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and payroll coordination to ensure proper controls and compliance.
- Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) requirements.
- Oversee indirect rate structures and support rate development and monitoring.
- Serve as a key point of contact during DCAA and other external audits.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for management.
- Provide variance analysis, budget-to-actual reporting, and financial insights to support business decisions.
- Aid in budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
- Support executive leadership with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a government contracting environment.
- Strong knowledge of FAR, GAAP, and DCAA compliance requirements.
- Experience with job cost accounting and indirect rate structures.
- Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a mid-size government contractor.
- Experience supporting DCAA audits and preparing incurred cost submissions.
- Familiarity with ERP system implementations or process improvement initiatives.
