Atlantic Group is hiring an Accounting Manager (Property Accounting) in New York, NY for our client, supporting property accounting, financial reporting, portfolio accounting, and monthly close activities within a real estate investment environment. This opportunity will oversee accounting operations for a portfolio of real estate assets while partnering with property management, accounts payable, and finance teams to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for assigned properties and related entities.

• Lead the monthly close process, including accruals, prepaid expenses, variance analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Maintain accurate general ledger activity, ensure proper transaction coding, and support accounting for property-level operations and activities.

• Partner with property management and accounts payable teams to resolve accounting issues, support operational reporting, and ensure timely financial data.

• Monitor cash balances, support funding requirements, and oversee lender-related reporting, reserve tracking, and compliance obligations.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

• Certification: CPA is required.

• Experience: 5+ years of real estate or property accounting experience is required, and prior public accounting experience is strongly preferred.

• Industry Knowledge: Experience within real estate, property management, real estate investment, or public accounting environments is required.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems is required, and experience with Yardi is strongly preferred.

Pay

$140,000 – $155,000/year + bonus
