Atlantic Group is hiring an Accounting Manager (Property Accounting) in New York, NY for our client, supporting property accounting, financial reporting, portfolio accounting, and monthly close activities within a real estate investment environment. This opportunity will oversee accounting operations for a portfolio of real estate assets while partnering with property management, accounts payable, and finance teams to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
Responsibilities
Prepare and review monthly financial statements, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for assigned properties and related entities.
Lead the monthly close process, including accruals, prepaid expenses, variance analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Maintain accurate general ledger activity, ensure proper transaction coding, and support accounting for property-level operations and activities.
Partner with property management and accounts payable teams to resolve accounting issues, support operational reporting, and ensure timely financial data.
Monitor cash balances, support funding requirements, and oversee lender-related reporting, reserve tracking, and compliance obligations.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
Certification: CPA is required.
Experience: 5+ years of real estate or property accounting experience is required, and prior public accounting experience is strongly preferred.
Industry Knowledge: Experience within real estate, property management, real estate investment, or public accounting environments is required.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems is required, and experience with Yardi is strongly preferred.

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate financial records, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment are required.
Pay
$140,000 – $155,000/year + bonus
