Amazon Leo's accounting group focuses on Revenue, Supply Chain, and Infrastructure Accounting.
Responsibilities
- Drive projects, provide accounting guidance, and serve as the first point of contact for finance and business partners to resolve issues.
- Take end-to-end process ownership to support finance and business partners across accounting and reporting processes.
- Research, conclude, and document technical accounting position papers for new business initiatives and complex transactions.
- Assess internal control design to evaluate effectiveness and influence system, process, and control design for emerging business activities.
- Exercise judgment to ensure accurate financial reporting and monthly book closure.
- Analyze complex process and system data to identify improvement and automation opportunities.
- Lead accounting tasks and projects, enhancing partnerships between Accounting and business/IT groups.
- Navigate ambiguity and prioritize effectively based on multiple business needs.
- Escalate risks and issues to leadership as necessary.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in finance or a related analytical field.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency (Green Card holder) due to export control laws.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA certification.
- Experience researching and documenting accounting conclusions.
- Knowledge of internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency.
- Familiarity with GAAP research tools and the FASB codification.
- Accounting management experience in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients.
- Experience in the satellite internet and/or telecommunications industries.
Pay
The base salary range for this position varies by location:
- Culver City, CA; Boston, MA; Portland, OR; Austin, TX; Arlington, VA; Seattle, WA: $95,400 – $163,200 USD annually.
- Nashville, TN: $85,900 – $146,900 USD annually.
Compensation includes sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is determined by experience, qualifications, and location.
