Accounting Manager- Legal

This is a well-established full-service law firm rooted in Northeast Ohio with a long history of providing legal counsel to both individuals and businesses. The firm’s attorneys offer expertise across more than 50 legal practice areas, including corporate and business law, estate planning and probate, employment and labor, real estate, litigation, and mergers and acquisitions. Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll coordination, and general ledger.
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and partner reporting.
• Manage cash flow, forecasting, and working capital.
• Lead firm budgeting, variance analysis, and financial planning.
• Oversee firm 401(k) and profit-sharing plans in coordination with third-party administrators and advisors.
• Manage firm non-personnel insurance programs, including professional liability (E&O), employment practices liability (EPLI), cyber liability, and other business insurance coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• CPA and/or MBA preferred.
• 5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience; law firm or professional services experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with trust accounting and legal billing systems is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
• In-depth understanding of law firm accounting and trust/IOLTA requirements.
• Advanced Excel skills and financial systems proficiency.

Pay

$100,000 – $105,000 per year
