About the Role
The Accounting Manager is responsible for a wide array of financial, strategic and leadership duties, including strong involvement in the Division safety goals and actions; leading accounting and purchasing teammates and processes; training and development; overseeing all daily accounting and purchasing tasks and controls, such as the general ledger, AP/AR, fixed assets, tax, financial and compliance reporting, forecasting and inventory activity; and various financial and analytical analyses driving continuous improvement across all aspects of the business locally and Corporate-wide.
Responsibilities
- Maintain oversight and execution of Nucor's accounting and reporting related activities in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP)
- Lead the implementation, communication, and interpretation of accounting and purchasing policies
- Manage the period-end accounting system close process
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reports with weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual on-time and accurate submissions
- Lead ad-hoc projects and tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business related field
- Five (5) years experience in accounting or finance
- Three (3) years leadership experience

Preferences
- CPA or CMA credential
- MBA or Master's Degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance
- 1+ years supervisory or leadership experience
- 1+ years of working in a manufacturing industry
- 1+ years of Oracle ERP experience
