Accounting Manager
Brief Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Develop and deliver financial reports, analyses, and recommendations.
- Analyze financial and operational data, identify trends and variances, and communicate findings and recommendations to management.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and subsidiary systems.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation, filing, and payment of all required tax returns, tax deposits, and related regulatory filings.
- Prepare monthly workpapers, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives.
- Lead or support special projects and other finance-related initiatives.
- Maintain a high degree of accuracy, confidentiality, and professional integrity.
- Ensure work is completed timely and documented according to established policies and procedures.
- Proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Communication skills at various levels.
- Finance/Manufacturing industry knowledge (optional).
Education and Work Experience
- High School diploma or GED.
- 2-4 years accounting degree (optional).
- Accounting experience.
Summary
The Accounting Manager oversees the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. This role manages the monthly close process, account reconciliations, tax compliance, financial analysis, and reporting activities that support sound business decision-making. The Accounting Manager partners with operational leaders to provide financial insight, maintain strong internal controls, ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and drive continuous improvement in accounting processes and systems. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audits, and delivering reliable financial information that enables organizational growth and performance.
