Responsibilities
- Oversee the review and approval of recurring accounting activity so weekly and monthly financial records are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Direct the period-end close process and guide staff accountants in preparing journal entries, maintaining deadlines, and supporting complete trial balance reporting.
- Ensure accounting practices align with applicable accounting standards, internal policies, and required financial control frameworks.
- Respond to requests from internal and external auditors by organizing documentation, clarifying transactions, and supporting efficient audit completion.
- Lead, coach, and develop accounting team members while reinforcing accountability, technical excellence, and ethical decision-making.
- Partner with park operations and finance colleagues to resolve daily accounting questions and improve the accuracy and timeliness of financial information.
- Perform and review account reconciliations using established tools and processes to identify variances and maintain reliable balances.
- Cook up with finance leadership and cross-functional partners to address seasonal and recurring staffing needs across the accounting function.
- Support compliance with regulatory and internal financial control requirements, including relevant U.S. accounting guidance and organizational control standards.
Requirements
- 5+ years of accounting experience, including responsibility for month-end close and general ledger activity.
- Prior experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong working knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting processes.
- Experience supporting financial statement audits and responding to audit documentation requests.
- Solid understanding of accounting controls, compliance expectations, and detail-oriented accounting standards.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with operational teams and finance peers to resolve accounting issues.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring reporting deadlines.
Qualifications
- Accounting degree or equivalent experience.
- CPA certification preferred but not required.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
